2022 was a banner year.
November marked an entire decade of publishing under my own label, Green Hill Press. 10 years ago, I sat in my original home office in my then-new house and published my short story My Best Friend’s Diary through Amazon. Today, I have 18 titles under my belt through this name and even more titles under a pen name.
I turned 40 this year. Which I’m actually really excited about. Josh and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. The tiny kitten we adopted several summers back is now 4 1/2. He’s a big cat with a huge heart we just absolutely adore. He loves attention. He never bites. He only hisses when he gets scared, but he’s getting less skittish, which I love to see. I was lucky to get a good picture of him because he tends to move when I try to capture his cuteness.
On the writing side of things, you’ll notice a new look to my website. Everything is clean and sleek. The VIP area has gotten a complete face-lift. I’m calling it the Reader’s Room now. All of the author’s notes have been redone so they’re easier to read. There are a total of 59 notes now. 22 were expanded to share more trivia, and 24 of them are brand new. I hope you enjoy the new Reader’s Room layout and all the fun facts about your favorite books of mine. Plus the return of the helpful, colorful Races of Gladfire slides for Swords and Secrets!
As usual with me, there are some other changes as I move toward publishing more regularly – and professionally – in the new year. Links to the merch shop have come down while I consider whether to keep offering shirts, mugs, etc. 6 of my short works have new covers I’ll be rolling out. I think you’ll like them.
The Demonslayer edit, to be honest, is dead in the water. But – but! – it’s just getting pushed back. I love this series way too much to just shelve it. When I get out of my own head about it, I will polish it up the right way. I know it’ll be worth the wait for all of us.
For now, I’m moving ahead with Haunted Sugarwood’s book 2. I’m really excited about this story. We catch up with Joss and Liam from book 1 and find out what they’re up to. We also meet a new heroine Harper Posey and her potential boyfriend Cliff. You met his sister in book 1, but I’ll let you find out later who she is. Do you have any guesses?
That’s my 2022 in a nut shell. I’m proud of what I’ve published and accomplished with Green Hill Press. I got older but liked it. And I’m chomping at the bit to jump back into books under my own name again.
I hope your year was at least half as good as mine, and I’m looking forward to what we can all do in the upcoming year.
Cheers to all of us!
Good reading,
Cassandra
